Flag Fasteners

from $3.00
Size/Type:

Flag fasteners designed for use with flags that have the standard canvas heading and two brass grommets. One pair of fasteners per flag are required. (Do not mix standard flag fasteners and rotating flag fastener styles.)

Note - Today ‘s most popular house mount flagpoles are spinning poles. These are 1inch in diameter and use standard 1in flag fasteners (not the rotating style).

Did you know? The traditional sectional steel poles we grew up with to display Old Glory a few times a year on patriotic holidays, came with a plastic eagle ornament on top and string not flag fasteners. These were typically 3/4inch diameter poles.

Standard flag fasteners slide onto 3/4inch or 1inch diameter poles. The set screw is removed from the ring, inserted thru the flag grommet and screwed back thru the ring and tightened just snug enough to hold ring in place on the pole. Do not over tighten as this may break the ring. Place the rings apart so that the flag heading is in line and taut.

Rotating (aka spinning) flag fasteners are designed for use on poles that do not spin. Available for both 1inch and 1 1/4inch diameter poles. Each fastener slides on the pole, the set screw is tightened to hold the fastener in position and the attached clip connects the flag. Connect the top fastener first then position and tighten the second ring in the necessary position to attach the bottom grommet of the flag to the clip. Do not position rings so that the flag heading is completely taut as this may prevent the rings from rotating freely around your pole.
